2024-05-04  -  Manually Reset Smartphone Instead of Auto Updates
Next time my smartphone prompts for automatic software update, I can just do a complete reset of my phone. 
That will include software updates. 
What this does is gives me more ownership of the phone and gives me more ownership of the software updates!



Long version 'concern' here:

My smartphone does the following pattern which is basically a form of ransom (a.k.a. a 'dark pattern'), and it is the smartphone company leveraging ownership of the software updates to manipulate behavior of the phone users. 
It does the following:
Promts for automatic software updates then uses that as an excuse to prompt me to turn on all sorts of unwanted privacy-invading settings (changed my home screen wallpaper, changed animations in multiple areas, changed/added icons on my home screen, prompts 3x to enable gps services, prompts 3x to enable fingerprint scanning, Cloud login, notifications, data sharing, etc., etc.)
