Homeland Security Since 1492

My friend Musty Mustard brought me back a souvenir.

It is a t-shirt with a picture of some awesome badass 1800s native american militia people on it, and the caption reads:

“New Mexico Homeland Security - Protecting Our Rights Since 1492”

I searched it up and found similar souvenirs for sale online, like on etsy.com and similar, with similar captions like:

“Homeland Security ... Guarding the Borders since 1492”

“Homeland Security - Fighting Terrorism Since 1492”

“Original Homeland Security, Defending the Borders Since 1492”

Reason this t-shirt rocks, is that it implies individual americans should protect our country, including from any threats.

Including protecting ourselves from ourselves.

Protecting ourselves from the current establishment.

Like including protecting ourselves from (white male patriarchy) and protecting ourselves from (the federal government) and much more.
