Remember using AIM in the '90's?

Remember using Skype in the 2000's?

Felt like all you needed was (username + password)

And you were off and chatting.

Well that's what I get using GNU Jami (jami.net)

I just create an account with username + password.

And I'm off and chatting.

No need to provide email address nor phone number.

No need to perform 2fa rigamarole to sign in.

That's it.

Simple.

Oh and if I forget my password I'm screwed, If I get locked out of my device I'm screwed, I lost access to this one Jami account login forever.

But that's the beauty of it.

Who cares? I'll just tell my friends my new Jami handle via another channel, such as in-person, and I'm off and chatting again.

Nice and simple.

1. Open Jami app on iPhone for first time.

2. Just click the ‘Create’ Button bruh. No need to specify any username actually. It will give you a random digits username for real.

3. Yahs!!!! You have an account and are off and chatting! Invite your friends, search up contacts, share your qr code etc to your friend to start chatting. Nice.

In conclusion, this has been reason number 32* why to like GNU Jami. It's the new '90's AIM. It's the new 2000's Skype. Just need a username and password and you're off and chatting care free.

*Yeah it's not really the 32nd reason. I just randomly picked a number from 1 to 100 because there are so many, like 100, reasons why to like GNU Jami, and I'm just writing them as I think of them.
