Sudden Drop in Jan 2025;Strange Things Seen,When Looking.

If you follow a given company you'll sometimes see weird stuff.

I happened to be looking at UPS (United Parcel Service Inc), and I in doing so I noticed, in January 2025, UPS dropped $20 share price IN ONE DAY.

But then again, meh. Makes little difference to me because I am in it long term and I think it is a good company in 2025.

So $20 difference in 2025, isn't likely going to make me cry, nor lose sleep , nor change my decision to buy 1 share.

Side note, this is the power of dollar cost averaging.[

If I had bought $100,000 and then it dropped 20 points the next day, then, I might be more likely to cry.

But, if I buy 1 share and then it goes down 20 points the next day, I'll just shrug and move on more easily.

But anyway. The point is wow!

Check the 3x screenshots here below.

What I see is that, largely due to this recent 20 point drop, UPS shows as having gone down in the past 1-6 months.

Note though that in the past 5-10 years it has still shown as having gone up.

See the 3x screenshots here below:

1.) Screenshot 1, 1-month graph view, UPS drops suddenly on 2025-Jan-29th here:

2.) Screenshot 2, the 2025-Jan-29th price drop is still looking dramatic, even on the 6-month graph view, here:

3.) Screenshot 3, I was curious for any little context at all. Is the economy collapsing? Did the whole market go down? So I check another random (favorite though) company, WMT. and I see that no, at the same time, on 2025-Jan-29th, walmart  carried on and didn't have any sudden moves. Screenshot here:

Final note.

I am tempted to check the news to see what people are saying about UPS stock dropping so quickly one time in the past few weeks.

However.

I am a Foolish investor.

Foolish with a capital F, ( https://www.fool.com/investing/2023/04/01/join-these-motley-fool-investors-for-the-market-ca/ ) as people from the Motley Fool ecosystem would say.

I don't worry about this.

I don't think one drop even so sudden can represent an actually significant mark for such a good (IMHO) company.

And so you know what?

I'm not going to check the news.

I'm going to just do what I always done the past few years.

Buy and hold good companies by dollar cost averaging, and don't sell them.

Don't sell them unless i need the money for some other unrelated reason in my life.

But again, in conclusion, if you follow a given company, you see some weird stuff. Like this crazy onetime sudden share-price drop.
