Each person should have their own pot of money.
Paraphrased.
This was a memorable lesson I learned from this podcast episode.
I really liked this episode, this lesson stuck with me and I quote it to other people sometimes.

IIRC this is the episode the guest is from Canada and she advises everyone to keep their own pot of money. love it!
In the context, she means that each individual person, no matter what their relationship with family friends etc, should have some significant amount of money that they call their own.
I agree with this view, and I also say it’s not that each person can’t also have shared money, but, each human should also have their own money too additionally.
It reminds me of this other quote from the book Rich Dad Poor Dad, in that book it says like (paraphrasing) ‘...it’s not money that’s a root of evil, it’s the lack of money that’s a root of evil...’
In conclusion, each person should have their own pot of money.
