"these devices are not our friends"
Few minutes later mark.
Podcast guest says she coined the term 'data greedy' to describe how corporations and devices are just pulling so much data form all the devices/apps etc all the time, sometimes with a reason in mind but sometimes just blindly or in anticipation.

The guest speaks about this topic/paradigm:
When a journalist uses google cloud /docs or similar to write a rough draft of a sensitive news story, they really should think twice, or use another tool, because google is pulling that data into the cloud.
And so they are talking about what if one thing leads to another and someone gets arrested or worse, for something that got pulled by some "data greedy" cloud service and then the government got a hold of it etc.

The podcast guest, she says use separate devices for separate purposes. (they recap/reiterate this at the end of the podcast).
They are now talking about client side encryption.
They are now talking about Signal. (signal app) (signal messaging app)
30m. mark.
They talk about '...who is a jounalist?...'. (Nice , I asked them this out loud into the air as I was listening to the episode by myself in the room, to at the beginning.)
In other words, '...Define journalist. ..."
And they say but not just journalists but whoever is doing journalism, then isn't that a journalist?
35m. mark. The podcast hosts, at the end, are recapping how the guest said sometimes it can help to use separate devices for separate purposes. (like a jounalist contacting a source on one device, and doing private calls on another separate second device)
In conclusion, liked hearing how they are talking about stuff that is concerning to earthlings regarding software, privacy, security, identity, etc., becuase a lot of people either don't care, or don't want to talk about this. So this was refreshing.
