Every time we use our browser, and open a new tab, we see a popup ad.

For Edge and Firefox and Chrome.

Not for Tor browser.

This made me shiver with a feeling of betrayal.

Here's how to expenience the shivering betrayal feeling that I felt.

1.) use Firefox or Edge or Chrome for a while.
2.) whenever opening a new tab, one sees some kind of ad or popup.
3. note the ad is sometimes very small and subtle, sometimes intermittent, sometimes blatant. For example firefox splashes ads and eye-grabbing pseudo-news articles. Edge shows MSN content which mixes ads with pseudo-news. Chrome splashes the Google search home page, which is ever changing with something new to grab one's eye, like a little text message, and/or a new google doodle art.
4.) after some weeks/months/years of these big-3 browsers, now, switch to Tor browser for a week or two. Set the (home page/ new window/ and new tab page) to be "Blank Page".
5.) now open a new Tor browser to search something or browse somewhere.
6.) Feel yourself wait for one full second while for the ads and popups that are about to show up, in order to then click past them to your desired site.
7.) Pause again when a blank screen sits there with nothing on it.
8.) shiver and realize this means that I was trained slowly over years to expect to wait one second to see popups every single time I opened a new browser tab on Google or Edge or Chrome.
