They play an old clip (maybe even '90's etc.)

of persona of George Foreman.

and at one point P.G.F. says he likes annuities, because, when he checks on the annuity later, the money's still there.

This is especially in contrast, and in the context of, to GF's other past experiences where money just seemed to be burnt through or seemingly disappeared quickly.

Note that afterwards, iirc after they finish playing the flashback clip, the hosts, they say they personally haven't bought annuities and don't endorse buying annuities, however, they do make a point to say, that since persona Foreman liked them, and since they worked for him, then, there is some value in that, because one needs to know what works for oneself, and everyone has different goals and different tolerances. 

So for all this, I liked to hear this podcast episode.
