Wheeling and Dealing, Also Known as Power Games

My friend Musty Mustard, does Power Games.

Also known as Wheeling and Dealing.

After writing this let's research to see what they call this in formal scholarly psychology.

But for now, Power Games.

Fascinating because some people and their tribes hardly play any Power Games.

Maybe bumpkins, maybe simpletons, maybe people like "An Honest Guy". Like Frodo Baggins I suppose. Rubes. These folks less-so would play Power Games.

Who would moreso perform Wheeling and Dealing?

A City Slicker. Someone who cajoles. People who like to bullshit people.

Ok Ok Ok so some examples of how my friend Musty Mustard Wheels and Deals are here:

Example 1:
* If Musty wants to get Musty's way, musty leverages the name or reputation of one of Musty's peers, to seem like popular opinion.
* For example Musty first calls Ball Punyin over and then immediately also calls Rowdy over and Musty then quickly hints that Ball Punyin and Musty were just agreeing on 'plan A', when really they just convened and haven't yet agreed.

Example 2 of how Musty Mustard Wheels and Deals:
* This example say Musty wants to make 'plan B' happen.
* Musty quickly asks Ball Punyin to agree to some tiny vague favor that's not 'plan B'.
* Then Musty asks Ball to come along to see Rowdy about something, again not 'plan b'.
* Then Musty asks Rowdy to agree to 'plan B' while hinting that the reason Ball Punyin is in attendance is because Ball has already agreed to 'plan B'.

Example 3 of Musty Mustard Wheeling and Dealing:
* Musty wants to convince Rowdy of 'plan C'.
* So Musty first approaches Ball Punyin and uses cajoling techniques to chat for a while about different angles and ideas surrounding 'plan C'.
* Musty Mustard doesn't tell Ball what 'plan C' is, neither in its entirety nor otherwise.
* After they talk for a while Ball Punyin has expressed 9x disintereset in 9x nonsequitur separate pieces of 'plan C' so far and but 1x interest in only 1x nonsequitur separate aspect of 'plan C'.
* Musty Mustard then approaches Rowdy Strawberry and proposes a full version of 'plan C', adding in that Ball expressed interest in 'plan C'.

And so we see Musty Mustard is playing a Power Game, is leveraging Ball Punyin in order to try to gain favor with Rowdy Strawberry.

I guess 'give someone an inch and they'll take a mile' comes to mind here too.

Ok now after these examples.

I bet this is covered in scholastic psychology, textbook psychology circles, and so if so, then what it classified/called there formally?
Dunno, be interested to learn more about this.

Important note. Having known my friend Musty Mustard for some time. I think these power games and Wheeling and Dealing. Are very natural and mostly subconscious and just matter-of-fact. In other words this is the way folks do things where Musty Mustard comes from. And so no judgement here. But still these circles are not the same as all other social circles. These social circles are different from some social circles.
And yet again. False dichotomy. Why not learn all different human social paradigms and then pick and choose which ones to follow and which ones to avoid etc.? nice.

In conclusion, some bumpkins hardly ever leverage these Power Games, but, my city slicker friend Musty Mustard, has been playing these games Musty's whole life, and is very skilled at Wheeling and Dealing. Nice.
