Out And About Professionally。 Dumbphone VS. Smartphone。 False Dichotomy 002。

I went to a professional meeting and was proud of how I had brought what I called my "de-googled" smartphone.

But then folks wanted to connect with me via LinkedIn via apps and I wanted to as well.

So as usual I would have to wait to go on laptop to connect on LinkedIn.

Oops.

Foot in mouth.

But the point is.

Having a dumpphone is great for privacy and anonymity and freedom, but, what happens when I want to use a trusted app or service to truly get value out of it, connect consciously with others, do business, etc?

So now I think I need to bring my computer to professional events as well.

Or, my "phoneputer".

Smartphone.

So in other words I still bring my dumbphone (GrapheneOS Pixel device) as always for talk+text, but, I ALSO bring a second device that, while it is connected to the matrix, it has the ability to use some apps that I still want to use (for example linkedin, spotify, etc.

For me this is usually an iPhone that I have, that I keep powered-off with wifi disconnected in my bag, and then only turn it on and connect to wifi when I want to use an app.

In other words, It hit me hard the other day, that I am living in a dual reality, where I want to be disconnected by default, but still able to connect any time in order to do business transactions.

the point here is, need two devices now on business professional days. 1.) de-shittified touchscreen smartphone and 2.) phone-puter.

In conclusion, why choose either Dumbphone or Smartphone?
False Dichotomy.
Choose both.
