Devices addicting and how to detox.

Why do devices so addicting?

'saved logins' this concept.

In other words separating the following things:

* my identity

* the 'saved login'

* the account

* the device

I noticed devices are leveraging this concept called the 'saved login'.

So I feel like various of my account logins are attached to my device.

So that makes me uncomfortable.

Ways I feel to separate these and feel more comfortable is the following:

A. - Resetting device often (total reset to factory settings).

B. - Logging out of account after using it every time.

C. - Not saving password in device (don't use saved login option). *but I notice these days 2025 this isn't an option anymore on most apps (!!)

D. - Shared devices. sharing a device with other people. Thus you know it's not private and not linked to your identity 1:1 (because this device is shared thus also can/is linked to others' identities too)

So I have an iphone that I am sharing with family members whenever any of us needs it for general apps (music, podcasts, 3rd party apps, 3rd party messaging apps, etc.)

This seems to help because it wrenches my (our) identity away from a 1:1 ratio with ( 1-person : 1-device )

Put otherwise, companies (google facebook apple microsoft) want to do the following:

I.)

Want to do make it so users have a 1:1 ratio user:device (forcing 2fa, using 'saved logins' by default, splashing messages 'good morning morgan...' on the app home screen, asking you to input your real name and dob etc., etc. etc.)

II.)

Want to do continue leveraging ransoming the device over the user to control the user's behavior.

III.)

Want to do leveraging and ransoming in the following ways:

•popup ads

•ads

•dark patterns ads ("yes or maybe later", no option for "no")

•forcing creating login in order to use

•forcing giving information in order to create login (dob, gps location, address+zipcode, full name, •email addy, phone#, etc. etc.)

•defaulting to gps location sharing ON

•defaulting to accessing adressbook contacts

•defaultlting to accessing camera and photos and microphone

•defaulting to saving history

•unsolicited showing my own old photos to me as 'memories' (ew those are my private photos)

In conclusion, this was regarding devices addicting and how to detox.
